【摘要】:Sincetheinformationprovidedbythistestmethodislargelyqualitativeinnature,specificlimitscoveringthefollowingcharacteristicsarerequiredinreferringtothistestmethodinspecificationsforkerosine:4.1.1Durationofthetest:16hisunderstood,ifnototherwisespecified;4.1.2Permissiblechangeinflameshapeanddimensionsduringthetest;4.1.3Descriptionoftheacceptableappearanceofthechimneydeposit.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthequalitativedeterminationoftheburningpropertiesofkerosinetobeusedforilluminatingpurposes.(Warning8212;Combustible.Vaporharmful.)Note18212;ThecorrespondingInstituteofPetroleum(IP)testmethodisIP10whichfeaturesaquantitativeevaluationofthewick-char-formingtendenciesofthekerosine,whereasTestMethodD187featuresaqualitativeperformanceevaluationofthekerosine.Bothtestmethodssubjectthekerosinetosomewhatmoresevereoperatingconditionsthanwouldbeexperiencedintypicaldesignatedapplications.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificwarningstatementsappearthroughoutthetestmethod.
