【摘要】:Thesignificanceofthistestmethodinanyoverallmeasurementprogramdirectedtowardaserviceapplicationwilldependontherelativematchoftestconditionstotheconditionsoftheserviceapplication.Thistestmethodseeksonlytoprescribethegeneraltestprocedureandmethodofcalculatingandreportingdata.Thechoiceoftestoperatingparametersislefttotheuser.Afixedamountofslidingdistancemustbeusedbecausewearisusuallynon-linearwithdistanceinthistest.1.1Thistestmethodcoverslaboratoryproceduresfordeterminingtheresistanceofmaterialstoslidingwear.Thetestutilizesablock-on-ringfrictionandweartestingmachinetorankpairsofmaterialsaccordingtotheirslidingwearcharacteristicsundervariousconditions.1.2Animportantattributeofthistestisthatitisveryflexible.Anymaterialthatcanbefabricatedinto,orappliedto,blocksandringscanbetested.Thus,thepotentialmaterialscombinationsareendless.However,theinterlaboratorytestinghasbeenlimitedtometals.Inaddition,thetestcanberunwithvariouslubricants,liquids,orgaseousatmospheres,asdesired,tosimulateserviceconditions.Rotationalspeedandloadcanalsobevariedtobettercorrespondtoservicerequirements.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Weartestresultsarereportedasthevolumelossincubicmillimetresforboththeblockandring.Materialsofhigherwearresistancewillhavelowervolumeloss.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
