【摘要】:Thetestgivesanestimateoftheabilityofarubbervulcanizatetoresistcrackgrowthofapiercedspecimenwhensubjectedtobendingorflexing.Noexactcorrelationbetweenthesetestresultsandserviceisimpliedduetothevariednatureofserviceconditions.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofcrackgrowthofvulcanizedrubberwhensubjectedtorepeatedbendingstrainorflexing.ItisparticularlyapplicabletotestsofsyntheticrubbercompoundswhichresisttheinitiationofcrackingduetoflexingwhentestedbyMethodBofTestMethodsD430.Crackinginitiatedinthesematerialsbysmallcutsortearsinservice,mayrapidlyincreaseinsizeandprogresstocompletefailureeventhoughthematerialisextremelyresistanttotheoriginalflexing-fatiguecracking.Becauseofthischaracteristicofsyntheticcompounds,particularlythoseoftheSBRtype,thistestmethodinwhichthespecimensarefirstartificiallypuncturedintheflexareashouldbeusedinevaluatingthefatigue-crackingpropertiesofthisclassofmaterial.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
